Henry Nkwanga is a Director at I.T. Transport Limited (ITT), with over 10 years of experience as a UK-based consultant in highways and transportation and over 17 years in the civil engineering sector. He is a UK Chartered Engineer (CEng) and holds a BSc in Surveying from Makerere University, Uganda, and an MSc in Road Management and Engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK.

Henry Nkwanga is a Director at I.T. Transport Limited (ITT), with over 10 years of experience as a UK-based consultant in highways and transportation and over 17 years in the civil engineering sector. He is a UK Chartered Engineer (CEng) and holds a BSc in Surveying from Makerere University, Uganda, and an MSc in Road Management and Engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK.
Henry’s core competencies include business development, project formulation, project management, transport sector research, transport infrastructure asset management, pavement engineering, institutional reform, and capacity building. His expertise in international development is exemplified by his role as the Regional Technical Manager for East and Southern Africa on the DFID-funded Research for Community Access Partnership (ReCAP) programme. In this capacity, he spent four years developing concept notes and proposals for research projects, providing technical advice on ongoing projects, and promoting the uptake of research outputs into practice.
Recently, Henry was the Project Director for the World Bank funded Diagnostic Study for transforming Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) and the AfDB funded Technical Assistance to Undertake Performance Reviews and Develop Turn Around Strategies for the Zimbabwe National
Road Administration (ZINARA). The projects delivered reform strategies for improving the performance of the road agencies in Ghana and Zimabawe.
Currently, Henry is the Project Director for the World Bank funded Consultancy Services for Technical Assistance to the Ethiopian Roads Administration (ERA) Road Research Centre (RRC) project in Ethiopia and the AfDB funded Manzini to Mbadlane (MR3) Highway Project (Lot1), Technical Assistance – Road Sector Reforms Service. He also leads ITT’s technical assistance efforts for road sector reforms in Eswatini.
